This is a proper delicatessen, it seems to be a bit fashionable to call places delis... But this place actually is one, and plenty of people seem to know ... The place was packed !

I had a Yorkshire ham and farmhouse  cheese pannini (I almost called it a ham and cheese sandwich) and cappuccino ... Both were proper !

Staff were pleasant and friendly despite being rushed off their little feet !

All in all ... Most excellent :-)

This lovely deli, situated on the ever popular Street Lane, is a fantastic little place that everyone should visit at least once. I love my little dreamy stop-offs for coffee and a quick scribble in my thought pad and having reached the end of my steam the other day I decided to try here for just that. I nipped in, at first planning to sit outside, but then as soon as I spied the hoards of goodies along the shelves I knew I wanted to sit in and browse over the items on sale!

Goodness they've a lot of specialist things. Organic alcohols, wild hibiscus for champagne (which I am *dying* to try), a huge specialist cheese counter, oils, crackers, jams, pickles, nuts, confectionary, vinegars, herbs - literally tons of exciting bits and bobs. They have a selection of breads too, some humungous meringues for £2.00 a go and they even do a take away meal of the day - the one on sale when I was there was lemon chicken bake, which sounds delicious, doesn't it? Even their window display was lovely, with all kinds of treats hanging from ribbons in the window.

My coffee was certainly delightful, and judging by how pleased the nearby customers were with their lunch, I imagine the food would be too. So, definitely worth a visit.

I do like Haley and Cliffords. It is a bright and breezy deli with tables shoehorned into the front area. It always seems to have people sat around nattering and lovely smells of coffee and/or fresh bread.  One negative is that they are quite slow at the whole getting food out to you...although when it arrives, my is it tasty!
I always come here just before christmas to add interesting things to Christmas hampers. spotted some raspberry seed chocolate yesterday, but i do like the russian roulette game of chilli chocolate they've had in the past!. umm i'm burbling. go. eat. have coffee. buy pasta and massive meringues.
oh and outside they have rugs so that you can snuggle up whilst chowing down in the nippy

It's probably best to read the business description of this place rather than my review - for once, the owner of a company isn't biased and is speaking the truth: this place is great.

It's got a local-sounding name and stocks plenty of local-produce such as some mighty-fine Yorkshire smoked meat and fish, which I'm a big fan of. But it also has products from all corners of the globe, including cheeses and spreads. All the produce is mighty fine match the high quality. They also offer takeaway "supper" on weekend evenings, which is brill.

And, most importantly, it doesn't use the word "deli" in vein. It really is a deli.

I was, as I often am, dubious when I walked in may be this place is a little too dressed up I thought. But it wasn't/isn't. With a preference to takeaways, although there is both indoor and outdoor seating, there is a modest yet sumptuous selection of foods. Nothing too unusual but all very high quality.

Many goods are from local producers and suppliers, there are absolutely gorgeous chocolate high heels for sale, a large array of pickles, chutneys and other preserved goods/snacks, a decadent range of soft drinks such as Fentimans and, the cheese counter is just brimming with gooey delights. Be aware of slightly reduced opening hours through winter.
